Ajay Sawant

Social Media Intern


Ajay Sawant is a veterinarian, marine conservationist, and environmental storyteller. He holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) from the Apollo College of Veterinary Medicine, and has worked with organisations including the National Geographic Society, Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs, High Seas Alliance and ThinkOcean Society. A Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University, Ajay’s work has been featured by the The New York Times, Mongabay, and The Times of India. He serves on the Strategic Communications Advisory Board for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and was recognised as part of The Explorers Club's EC50, honouring fifty people changing the world. Through his work, Ajay explores how science, communication, and community engagement can strengthen conservation outcomes in a rapidly changing climate.
