About the Organization

Solar Sister is an organization dedicated to empowering women and addressing energy poverty in last-mile communities by recruiting, training, and supporting women to become entrepreneurs in the clean energy sector. When empowered female entrepreneurs bring affordable, clean energy products to their communities, livelihoods are improved thanks to regular access to energy, and the effects of climate change are mitigated while CO2 emissions are reduced. Women gain footing on which to build a more equitable future for themselves and their families. Since its inception, Solar Sister has supported more than 11,000 women across Africa who have reached over 5 million people with life-changing renewable energy products

Fellowship Description:

The person in this position will report to the Impact Hub Director and support Solar Sister in reviewing our systems and our systems documentation, looking for gaps and weaknesses in both how our systems works and the quality of our documentation. They may work with external contractors/consultants on implementing and testing systems changes including our expected shift to a fully cashless sales process.
Responsibilities include:
- With direction, work with external partners on the implementation of new system aspects to improve our cashless transaction reconciliation process
- Help document system changes and data management procedures.
- Support in mapping existing processes and suggesting ways to improve them for consistency across countries
- Help clean and organize outdated and unused aspects of our Salesforce structures and automations.
- Support the creation of training slides and provide guidance to local teams on relevant system changes.
- Prepare reports and provide support to leadership by ensuring compliance and data systems information is accurate and timely


Qualifications:

- Currently pursuing a degree in International Development, Sustainability, Business Administration, Data Management, Information Systems, Law, or a related field. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge or interest in clean energy, environmental regulations, and women’s empowerment initiatives.
- Familiarity with data management, reporting tools, and compliance regulations is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc.) and Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for Solar Sister’s mission of empowering women and increasing access to clean energy.


Time Commitment:  30 hours / week
