WILDCOAST

Storytelling & Conservation Communications Fellow

About the Organization:

WILDCOAST is an international team that conserves coastal and marine ecosystems and addresses climate change through natural solutions. Through science‑based conservation, community partnerships, and bold policy leadership, we safeguard some of the most biodiverse coastlines on the planet—from California’s iconic beaches to Mexico’s mangrove forests, coral reefs, and gray whale lagoons. Our team works across borders to conserve wildlife, restore blue carbon ecosystems, and empower local communities to protect the natural resources they depend on.

Position Description:

WILDCOAST is seeking a creative, detail‑oriented fellow to help us bring our conservation impact to life through compelling, accessible, and beautifully designed materials. This fellowship is ideal for someone who loves translating complex environmental work into stories that resonate with diverse audiences.

The fellow will support the development of organization‑wide communications and development materials, including:

A long‑form “About WILDCOAST” document that introduces our organization, program areas, leadership, and cross‑border conservation model (a resource used for funders, partners, and public audiences)

Program‑specific one‑pagers that clearly and visually communicate the goals, strategies, and achievements of each conservation program

Light research, content synthesis, and storytelling support to ensure accuracy, clarity, and narrative cohesion

Graphic layout support to make materials visually engaging and aligned with WILDCOAST’s brand

This is a highly collaborative role where the fellow will work closely with WILDCOAST’s Director of Strategic Initiatives to shape materials that strengthen our fundraising, communications, and organizational storytelling.
