Position Description: 

The WILDCOAST Geospatial Analyst Fellow will support the GIS needs of the US Wetlands program under the mentorship of the Conservation Ecology Manager. This position is a premier opportunity to hone technical GIS skills while contributing to regional conservation and rewilding efforts. The US Wetlands program utilizes landscape-level and survey data to inform adaptive management, scope future projects, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.

Potential tasks include: Survey data management, developing GIS Dashboards and Story Maps, geospatial modeling, and processing diverse data types (Landsat/Drone imagery, public datasets, and mobile survey forms).


Desired Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Geography, Environmental Science, GIS, or a related field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Foundational knowledge of ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online, Python or Arcade familiarity.

  • Data Handling: Familiarity with or interest in learning mobile data collection tools like Survey123 or Field Maps.

  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and a passion for coastal conservation and wetland restoration.

  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently in a virtual environment (as required by the fellowship).


Time Commintment: 10-20 hours/week
