JUUNOO
Local Circular Production Fellow – US Modular Wall Pilot
About the Organization:
JUUNOO designs and manufactures circular, modular interior wall systems that can be installed, demounted, and reused, reducing waste and embodied carbon in commercial buildings. We work with real estate owners, architects, and contractors to turn interiors into reusable assets instead of disposable fit-outs, combining innovative product design with new circular business models.
Fellowship Description:
The fellow will help JUUNOO set up local pilot production for our modular, circular wall systems in the United States. This includes mapping and shortlisting US manufacturing partners (metal and panel fabricators) with compatible production machines, assessing their machinery capabilities, and supporting outreach to secure pilot production runs on their existing equipment.
Key tasks:
- Research and build a database of US producers with relevant production machinery (milling of boards on a double ended toner, coating with epoxy)
- Evaluate technical fit based on JUUNOO's product requirements and process parameters (tolerances, finishes, batch sizes).
- Support initial contact, information exchange, and meeting coordination with shortlisted producers.
- Help identify producers willing to lend their machines for pilot runs, and draft simple pilot-production MOUs or term sheets (machine access conditions, batch volumes, timing).
- Prepare concise summaries comparing options and recommending preferred pilot partners.
The fellowship is fully virtual but focused on the US market. You will work directly with JUUNOO's founder and product team and gain exposure to circular manufacturing, modular construction, and real-world commercialization.
Qualifications:
- Background in engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, procurement, or a related field.
- Strong research skills; comfortable creating target lists and reaching out to lots of suppliers.
- Confident communicator, able to support email and video outreach to potential manufacturing partners in the US.
- Interest in circular economy, sustainable materials, or modular construction; motivated to help scale a real-world climate solution.
- Self-organized and able to work independently in a remote team, delivering clear, concise summaries and recommendations.
Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
