Ecumenical Advocacy on Land, Water and Food Justice


About the Organization:

The World Council of Churches is a global fellowship of 256 national Protestant and Orthodox churches present in 120 countries, with a total membership of about 600 million - worldwide. The WCC is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and was founded in 1948. The WCC works on Ecumenism, mission, evangelism and unity on one hand and on the other hand it works on almost all the 17 SDGs and beyond. WCC has been actively addressing about Climate Change and care for creation from 1970s, much before the Earth Summit or the formation of the UNFCCC.

Fellowship Description:

• Provide administrative, editorial and creative assistance to the editorial team in producing (compiling content, seeking articles from authors, etc ) the WCC Ecumenical Water Network, Newsletter, “Together for Water” and the "Living Planet Monitor" publication.
•Provide assistance in preparations for the online campaign of Seven Weeks for Water 2026
• Provide assistance in preparation for the ICAARD+20 in Colombia, Feb 2026
•Attend meetings, take notes of Land, Water and Food Justice working group of WCC
•Any other assignments assigned by the supervisor, the Programme Executive within the mandate of the internship
•Assist in any fundraising efforts, including applying for possible funding opportunities on behalf of WCC.


Qualifications:

1) At least a Masters degree (completed or pursuing), preferably on environment/climate /water/food/land/ sustainable development, etc
2) Some experience of working with Faith Based Organisations
3) A heart for the poor and marginalised communities.
4) must not be a "climate change denier"


Time Commitment:  20 hours / week
