About the Organization:
Solar Sister is an organization dedicated to empowering women and addressing energy poverty in last-mile communities by recruiting, training, and supporting women to become entrepreneurs in the clean energy sector. When empowered female entrepreneurs bring affordable, clean energy products to their communities, livelihoods are improved thanks to regular access to energy, and the effects of climate change are mitigated while CO2 emissions are reduced. Women gain footing on which to build a more equitable future for themselves and their families. Since its inception, Solar Sister has supported more than 11,000 women across Africa who have reached over 5 million people with life-changing renewable energy products
Fellowship Description:
The person in this position will report to the Impact Hub Director. They will be responsible for compiling a comprehensive reference guide for Solar Sister’s Salesforce systems and overarching technology ecosystem. They will play a key role in documenting and organizing information about Solar Sister’s technology uses, automations, etc. and prepare both reference and training materials that are accessible to all staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Review all materials to identify gaps in documentation
- Document key elements of how Solar Sister’s Salesforce instance is organized: permissions, profiles, objects, relationships, automations, etc.
- With guidance, Identify all relevant technology platforms used by the organization and how any integrations between them function
- Develop relevant reference and training materials for staff
- Build visuals that explain connections and relationships between applications and platforms or between objects within platform
- Research potential alternative or additional platforms that would further support Solar Sister’s mission
- Suggest any potential process or structure changes to improve efficiency, efficacy or reliability of the Solar Sister tech stack
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in International Development, Sustainability, Business Administration, Systems Management, Information Technology or a related field. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc.) and Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc)
- Experience using CRMs and documenting technical systems
- Experience with Salesforce, TaroWorks, or OpenFN a plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for Solar Sister’s mission of empowering women and increasing access to clean energy.
Time Commitment: 30 hours per week
