10Power is a social impact enterprise that works with frontline communities to build, own and operate renewable energy infrastructure for climate justice. We are driven by the communities we serve and apply a workforce development, gender equity, and Indigenous Rights lens to all projects. Our work promotes energy access, sovereignty, and innovation. We provide project development, grant-writing, project management, and partnership-building. We are a woman and BIPOC-led organization with a small, dynamic team. This is a fast-paced internship where you will be encouraged to take initiative, elevate marketable skills, and build strong working relationships.
Fellowship Description:
As an Energy IOT Solutions Architect Intern working closely with the Lead Technologist, main tasks include but are not limited to:
- Helping design and build energy control systems (Front-of-Meter and Behind-the-Meter)
- Researching industry trends and customer needs to inform tech specs
- Project documentation and training content, task management, meeting minutes
- Contributing to technology white papers and policy briefs
- Supporting the lead technologist as needed
- Assisting with projects such as embedded energy controller development, OPENAMI or MQTT telemetry + control, Next-Gen Grid Control concepts, EV charging + energy transfer systems, Data Capture & Analysis + Tooling
Qualifications:
You have:
- Educational background in electrical, computer, or mechatronics engineering
- Passion for renewable energy and building technology
- Excellent organization and task management skills
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Excellent communication & follow up skills
- Curious, diligent, fast learner, highly adaptable
- Bonus: Familiarity with Python scripting, power electronics basics, MQTT / IoT systems, or ESP32 / Arduino projects
- Fully remote. Must have reliable internet access and ability to join meetings in Pacific Time zones. Optional in-person work if based in the Bay Area, California.
Time Commitment: 10-20 hours / week
