Educated Choices Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides food-related education, empowering students and community members to recognize the importance and responsibility of making informed decisions about their food, building a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone.
Fellowship Description:
Purpose of the Program: Assist in the analysis and evaluation of data related to usage and user feedback
Community Needs that the Program Serves: With ECP’s custom digital platform, educational material is able to be seen by users around the globe, accessible 24/7, and free of charge! The analyses and reports developed as part of this internship program will create opportunities for ECP to build a deeper understanding of users’ relationship between food choices, education, and a variety of environmental and health impacts.
Position tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Synthesize qualitative feedback to identify highs and lows in learners’ perceptions.
- Analyze quantitative data to calculate efficacy in learners’ intentions.
- Examine user trends to uncover pain points and opportunities in platform usage.
- Conduct deep dives into interested areas of data analysis.
Position Goals:
Goal 1: Master the "Data-to-Insight" pipeline, going beyond simple data pulling, by partaking in cleaning, analysis, and translation into recommendations.
Goal 2: Achieve advanced proficiency in our core survey database by building at least one end-to-end automated reporting workflow.
Goal 3: Practice presenting complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Goal 4: Opportunity to learn time management and team-building skills in remote workplaces.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a college or university program in the United States, pursuing a degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, or other related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, including cleaning data, identifying trends, running significance calculations, and basic study development.
- Interest in nonprofit, education, food, environment, or health-related issues.
- Available at least 10 hours per week.
- Operational computer with reliable internet.
- Basic understanding of Google Workspace.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to obtain a work permit if under 18 years of age.
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours / week
