Accounting and Finance Operations Fellow
About the Organization:
ElectricFish builds battery-integrated DC fast chargers that deliver 400kW from a 30kW grid connection — putting fast charging at sites where a utility upgrade would otherwise take years. The hardware works and is deployed; the open question is commercial.
Fellowship Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting and Finance Fellow to support our team. In this role, you will support financial planning, reporting, tax management, and compliance. This opportunity is ideal for a Fellow who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations while working with financial and operational data to support business decision-making. You will collaborate with members of the Executive/Founding team and other business stakeholders while developing your analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Improve upon the company's system for managing cashflow based on receivables, payables, and other inputs
-Support the company's accounting firm with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities in QuickBooks Online
-Build and maintain internal tools that reduce manual work and improve data accuracy across the finance org
-Support the upkeep of accurate financial records, account classifications, and supporting documentation
Qualifications:
-Has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
-Familiarity with PowerPoint.
-Strong communication and organizational skills.
-Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.
-Curiosity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Nice-to-have:
-Experience with Accounting software such as Quickbooks
-CPA
-Experience with sales tax reporting, compliance, and management
Time Commitment: 30 hours per week
