ElectricFish
Go-to-Market & Market Research Fellow
About the Organization:
ElectricFish builds battery-integrated DC fast chargers that deliver 400kW from a 30kW grid connection — putting fast charging at sites where a utility upgrade would otherwise take years. The hardware works and is deployed; the open question is commercial.
Fellowship Description:
This role owns the front end of that engine — who we target, how we reach them, and what comes back — working directly with the company President on a small team where the distance between research and a signed agreement is short.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Map who actually controls the sites we want — chains, fuel distributors, franchise groups, regional operators, and their trade associations — in an industry where ownership is fragmented and poorly documented
-Research and qualify prospective channel partners: EV infrastructure operators, fuel equipment suppliers, solar developers, fleet integrators
-Track state and federal EV infrastructure funding programs and translate eligibility rules and deadlines into a ranked list of target geographies
-Turn research into campaign-ready target files — sourcing, enrichment, verification — using AI tools to compress days of work into hours
-Brief and support our call center operators: supply targets and messaging, resolve data issues, and feed what they hear on live calls back into the next campaign
-Analyze conversion by segment, geography, and script, and use it to redirect where we spend the next thousand dials
-Qualify, route, and follow up on inbound from our website and site-host sign-up flow -Keep the CRM accurate enough to make decisions from, and build lightweight tools and reporting that keep it that way
Qualifications:
-Working proficiency with AI tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or similar). We'll coach on advanced use, but candidates should arrive comfortable prompting, iterating, and — critically — validating AI output.
-Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Energy, Public Policy, or a related field
-Strong research skills: finding, verifying, and structuring information from fragmented public sources
-Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, including large lists, lookups, and data cleanup -Strong written and verbal communication, including comfort working with external vendors
-Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and curiosity about a technical industry
Nice-to-have:
-Experience building repeatable AI workflows (structured prompts, batch processing, projects/custom GPTs, agentic tools)
-Experience with a CRM (HubSpot preferred) and email campaign tools
-Familiarity with lead generation tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, ZoomInfo, or similar)
-Familiarity with EV charging, energy, or fuel retail
-Light scripting or no-code automation (Python, Google Apps Script, Zapier)
A meaningful share of this work is research, verification, and follow-up — the unglamorous part of go-to-market that most people skip and then wonder why the pipeline is empty. The right fellow will find satisfaction in taking a messy market and making it legible and reachable, and will leave with a portfolio of market maps, campaigns, and conversion data they can point to and explain.
Time Commitment: 30 hours per week
