Keeling Curve Prize Eligibility and Requirements
Below is an overview of the 2026 Keeling Curve Prize Eligibility and Requirements.
Applications that are incomplete or that do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

We welcome entries for active projects or programs from anywhere in the world where Climate Curve is permitted to distribute funds.
The Keeling Curve Prize is obligated to follow U.S. laws and regulations in accordance with sanctions enforced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The United States currently has comprehensive sanctions on Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and specific regions of Ukraine (Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk), which broadly prohibit transactions. Additionally, the US has targeted sanctions on countries like Belarus, Russia, Syria, and Venezuela, along with many others, which restrict specific activities like exports or financial dealings. Transactions with any person on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List) are also prohibited. The list of sanctioned countries is not static and changes depending on US foreign policy, so it's best to check the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) website (ofac.treasury.gov) for the most current information on U.S.sanctions programs and the SDN list.
The Keeling Curve Prize is awarded for current programs and projects only.
Applications centered on past work, unimplemented ideas, or untested hypotheses will not be accepted.
All applications must demonstrate the potential for scalable GHG emissions reductions. Applications that do not attempt to quantify their emissions reductions or address the project’s functional and financial scalability (Questions #8 through #10) will not be considered.
Applications for the Keeling Curve Prize must be submitted in English. To ensure the legitimacy and accuracy of your responses, Climate Curve can not take responsibility for their translation.
Your project may align with more than one prize category. The application form requires that you designate a primary category for your application, but also allows you to list secondary categories for consideration. However, applicants are only eligible to win in one category in any given year.
Applicants that have not received an award are welcome to apply in subsequent years.
Previous prize winners may submit applications for new projects that are different from their previously awarded project and that utilize different methods and approaches to reduce or increase uptake of greenhouse gas emissions.
By completing an application, you are granting Climate Curve permission to disseminate information about your project at its discretion. This can include but is not limited to, sharing application information with investors, KCP supporters and members of our global network, and/or other third parties/software providers that help facilitate our application review and due diligence processes. Given this, we advise applicants not to provide confidential or proprietary information directly in the application. Confidential information that applicants would like the prize committee to be aware of but not to share can be provided separately via a secure platform — please contact r.metzel@climatecurve.org if you would like to securely share confidential/proprietary information relevant to your application.
