Vicky Wangechi
Vicky Wangechi is a civil engineer and PhD researcher at Beijing Jiaotong University, with a research background in sustainable infrastructure, lifecycle carbon assessment, and energy and emissions modelling. Her work has explored the environmental impacts of transport infrastructure and pathways for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with a particular interest in how research can support more sustainable and climate-conscious decision-making.
Beyond academia, Vicky is a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum’s Beijing II Hub, where she leads a circular-economy initiative promoting reuse and sustainable consumption. Her experiences across Kenya and China have shaped a broader interest in climate action, sustainable development, and translating technical research into practical impact.
Through her Constellations Fellowship with Global Heat Reduction, Vicky is contributing to research on how time-resolved climate metrics can strengthen the case for climate solutions and support corporate and investor decision-making.
