Samirah Hussain is an undergraduate student in Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service studying Environment and Energy Security, with interests in renewable energy, environmental justice, and critical mineral supply chains. She hopes to pursue a career in environmental law focused on sustainable development and energy policy.

Her professional experience spans civil rights and environmental advocacy, policy research, law, and diplomacy. She has worked with law firms, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), New Jersey Future, the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey, and a Washington, D.C.-based energy security think tank. She recently served as a fellow at the Meridian International Center, where she helped organize the 2025 Meridian Diplomacy Forum, convening ambassadors, government officials, business leaders, and policymakers for discussions on global challenges.

At Georgetown, Samirah has conducted research on environmental justice in carbon markets and critical mineral supply chain security. She also maintains a strong interest in the Middle East through her Arabic studies, regional research, and travel. On campus, she competes on the Mock Trial team, serves as Director of Media and Special Events at the Office of Muslim Life, and contributes to clean energy publications through Georgetown's Energy & Power Initiative.

Driven by driven by community, mission-driven work, and her curiosity, she is excited to join Solar Sister and support efforts to expand renewable energy access and economic opportunity.
