Michelle Wanjiku Thuo is a Kenyan software engineer with experience in web development, machine learning, and AI systems, passionate about building technology solutions for real world impact. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Kabarak University and has worked across software development, technical support and applied machine learning projects.

Michelle is the founder of African Civic Trust (ACT), an initiative focused on strengthening digital trust and developing accessible tools that support information integrity and community participation. Her work includes ACTive, a multichannel AI powered verification system that combines web, SMS and USSD interfaces with explainable AI and offline functionality to improve accessibility across different connectivity contexts.

Alongside technical development, she contributes to internet governance and digital policy spaces as a Pan African Youth Ambassador for Internet Governance. She is passionate about responsible technology, inclusive innovation, and designing systems that connect data, people, and decision making to create positive social and environmental impact.

During the Constellations Fellowship, she will contribute to the development of software tools that support ecological data systems and developer accessibility. She looks forward to deepening her understanding of ecological software, regenerative technologies and open source collaboration while applying her technical skills to real world environmental challenges.
