Conde Lysa Uwizeyimana is a climate resilience and agrifood systems specialist with extensive experience designing and leading climate-smart agriculture programs for smallholder farmers across East and West Africa. Over the past several years, she has worked closely with farming communities to improve agricultural productivity, strengthen soil health, promote climate adaptation, and scale behavior change initiatives that have reached more than 800,000 farmers. Lysa holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University. She has represented organizations and national delegations at the United Nations Climate Change Conferences (COP24, COP25, and COP27), contributing to discussions on climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and climate finance. Her work focuses on translating research into practical, scalable solutions that strengthen farmer livelihoods and build more resilient agrifood systems. Lysa is a recipient of the Obama Foundation Leader–Africa Award and the EDF Climate Corps Fellowship Award. She is fluent in English, French, and Kinyarwanda.
