Praise Odosa Eghaghe is a recent graduate from the University of Benin in Nigeria, where he studied Marine Engineering. Over the past few years, his work has taken him in a direction he didn't fully expect — using data and GIS tools to document forest loss in Edo State and building conservation education programmes that bring young people into that work for the first time. That work grew out of an externship with the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy, which gave him the foundation to incorporate data and community conservation. He currently sits on the NGS OER Leadership Academy, where he works with a global network of educators building open educational resources on climate and the environment. Across all of it, he has relied on tools like Python, Power BI, ArcGIS, and Google Analytics to turn field data into something people can actually act on. He is excited to be joining SubjectToClimate as a Data IT Intern because making climate education more accessible to teachers sits right at the intersection of everything she cares about. Outside of work, you will find him out cycling or researching history, both things that, honestly, keep him thinking clearly. He is looking forward to learning from this fellowship and contributing wherever he can.
