Maryjane Onyechesi (she/her) is a Master of Land and Water Systems student at the University of British Columbia, Canada, whose work focuses on climate adaptation, environmental governance, and community resilience. Her academic and professional experience includes climate-smart agriculture, sustainable development, policy research, and knowledge management. She has contributed to research on climate-smart agriculture and sustainable natural resource management and has published research examining farmers' climate information needs and agricultural resilience. Her interests include climate justice, food systems, environmental sustainability, and community-led approaches to climate action.
As a Constellations Fellow supporting the World Council of Churches' Ecumenical Decade of Climate Justice Action, she is excited to contribute to initiatives that advance climate justice and sustainable development. Maryjane is passionate about developing evidence-based solutions that empower communities and promote a sustainable future.
