Betsy Middleton
Betsy Middleton (she/her) is a campaign strategist and communicator working at the intersection of climate, finance, and corporate accountability.
She develops and delivers campaigns that challenge the entrenched power of global financial institutions, and their negative impact on planetary systems and climate vulnerable communities.
She has filed shareholder resolutions at multinational oil and gas companies, contributed to the development of independent climate standards for financial institutions, and coordinated civil society challenges to European pension funds over their failure to manage climate risk and fulfill their duty to future beneficiaries.
Betsy holds a BA in Anthropology and Earth Sciences from University College Utrecht and an MA in Science and Technology Studies from the Technical University of Munich.
She is a Constellations Fellow with the World Council of Churches, where she is supporting advocacy and capacity building to bring legal challenges to fossil fuel financiers, based on a moral imperative towards children.
