Lara Ferraz (she/her) is a Brazilian lawyer and researcher focused on climate justice. She holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), including an exchange period at the University of Graz (Austria), where she examined the temporal and spatial asymmetries created and intensified by climate change – namely, intergenerational concerns and Global South-North dynamics – and how they can be addressed through legal mechanisms such as climate litigation. Her research focuses on state and corporate climate accountability, transnational climate and environmental harm, human rights violations, and issues of climate displacement and migration. She is particularly interested in the potential of legal strategies to advance more equitable responses to the climate crisis and promote global climate justice. Lara graduated in Law from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil) and has professional experience in both the public and private sectors. In addition to her research and legal work, she has experience in teaching, as well as in the planning and facilitation of academic events.
