Amanda Brock
Amanda Delia Brock Morales (she/her) is a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow in Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she researches climate change, water governance, and landscape memory in the Peruvian Andes. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Florida and is the Director of the Kawsay Pacha Project, a community-collaborative research initiative focused on cultural heritage and climate resilience in the Callejón de Huaylas. Amanda is also a National Geographic Explorer and 2025 WINGS Women of Discovery flag carrier whose work integrates archaeological science, traditional ecological knowledge, and participatory mapping to support local water stewardship and adaptation planning. She has led partnerships with municipal leaders, cultural organizations, and university teams in Peru and the United States, ensuring research outcomes are actionable and community-centered. Her past experiences include mentoring students in digital storytelling and spatial analysis, coordinating multi-stakeholder workshops, and developing bilingual public communication materials. As a Constellations Fellow, Amanda is interested in exploring how AI-assisted storytelling can help bridge ecological data, community histories, and broader public engagement to advance climate justice.
